Landmarks, ZUMIX, and the Power of MusicA look back at our acclaimed collaboration with East Boston’s ZUMIX. Composer Gonzalo Grau, ZUMIX Director of Operations Jenny Shulman, and ZUMIX alumna Angelina Botticelli join Maestro Wilkins to reflect on the the pieces that ZUMIX students co-composed with Grau for Landmarks. We will also touch on the unique role ZUMIX plays in Boston, and their belief that “music is the most powerful means of developing adolescent self-identity.”

A Conversation with Ashleigh Gordon, Anthony Green, and Christopher Wilkins
Join us for a live conversation with Maestro Christopher Wilkins and Ashleigh Gordon and Anthony R. Green, co-founders of Castle of Our Skins, a concert and educational series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music. They will reflect on our collaboration last year with Jean Appolon Expressions and the Conservatory Lab Charter School, and will address the larger topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion in classical music. Ashleigh is member of the viola section of Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and Anthony is an internationally-recognized composer.
Note the unusual time: 12:00 EDT, as Mr. Green will be joining us live from his home in Europe.
