Jim Murray, Manager of Development & Communications
Jim Murray began working for the Boston Landmarks Orchestra right out of college, starting as an intern just in time for its concert at Fenway Park in July 2010. After completing his internship, he received a Bachelor of Music with Emphasis in Music Business from UMass-Lowell. He was named Manager of Development in 2012. He also serves as the organization’s resident proofreader.
A native of the Boston area, Jim credits in part the many free outdoor concerts he attended during his youth with inspiring his love of music and interest in pursuing a career in the industry. However, he never would have predicted his career path prior to beginning guitar lessons at the age of 14. Working for an orchestra has helped Jim develop an appreciation for many different musical styles, supplementing an already abundant interest in rock, blues, folk, and jazz.
Jim is inspired every day by the determination and creativity of his colleagues, and is proud to serve as part of a vibrant team that works tirelessly to provide people of all ages and backgrounds with access to great music. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, going to concerts, and consuming an equally endless music collection and supply of coffee.
